Job Description Donor Relationship Specialist Reports to: Department: Director of Development President’s Office / Advancement Status: Salary: Full time, Exempt Commensurate with degree and experience About Grace Bible College: Grace Bible College has been training young men and women to serve Christ in church and society since 1939 and is located in Wyoming Michigan. We have a student body of about 325 in our traditional on campus program and about 450 in our adult and online program. GBC is affiliated with several organizations including Grace Gospel Fellowship, a fellowship of 100+ churches across the nation, and Grace Ministries International, coordinating the work of about 20 missionaries around the world. Summary The Donor Relationship Specialist reports to the Director of Development. They will maintain and develop relationships with current and perspective donors. They will also interact and work closely with other members of the Advancement team to support and achieve the annual fundraising goals of the college. Essential Duties: Actively manage a portfolio of 150 donors and prospects utilizing the moves management strategy Meet regularly with the Development Director to strategize and coordinate solicitations to accomplish fundraising goals Travel as appropriate to meet with donors and prospects Occasional evening and weekend work is required as necessary Must be able to learn and work in our current donor database. Ability to work with diverse groups including churches, corporations, foundations and boards. Be able to work with a team to achieve the annual stated goals Perform normal clerical work and reporting as well as work on special projects at the direction of the Development Director Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Previous experience and successful work in development is very beneficial. Ability to strategize, implement, and motivate people to participate while having the skill to multi-task and be able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage the required workload with integrity, diligence, accuracy, and attention to detail. Must have the ability to accurately and efficiently perform required computerized tasks, with the ability to learn new technology quickly. Customer Service Skills – Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Frequent interaction with students, parents, and agencies requires positive customer relations and ability to work with diverse populations. A pleasant and helpful demeanor will assist in the favorable development and maintaining of relationships. Comprehensive Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritization to meet fundraising goals along with strong writing, planning, and organizational skills Decisiveness/Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Sound decision making, problem solving, prioritization skills, and prompt follow up are key elements. Self-Starting Team Player – Must display the ability to be a team player, yet have the self drive to work independently, take initiative, and perform with minimal supervision. Physical Demands – A minimal amount of travel is required as needed for updates and professional development and various recruiting events. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
