Pons:
The function of the pons is to put
you to sleep by producing specific chemicals that help maintain the sleep/wake cycle. Aside from this main function, the pons also has a role in respiratory function.
No matter where the
Weymouth employees turn while working at Linden Pons, they always see old people sleeping. Whether they are in the corner dozing off, at the dining room table or in their rooms, the residents are always falling asleep. They always say,
“Its something about Linden
Pons that will put you right to sleep.”
Reticular Formation: the main function is to wake you up. This is made of neurons networking together through different parts of the brain to alert and
“wake up” higher parts of the brain. A secondary function is that it helps decide what we should pay attention
to.
Starbucks has been renamed after it’s most popular drink, the
Starbicular Foamation. This drink instantly wakes you up and gets you ready for the day ahead. It has a perfect formation of foam on top which gives it the name.
This is the best before school drink because not only will it wake you up, but it will help you pay attention to the important classes you take.

Types of high schoolers
(AKA Hypothalamus)
The hypothalamus links the nervous system and endocrine system. It is part of the
limbic system and is located directly above the thalamus. The hypothalamus is responsible for a person’s sex, hunger, and
thirst drives. It also regulates body
temperatures and releases hormones in the body.
These people are always down for
Netflix and chill and are constantly thirsty, if you know what I mean. You can spot these people easily because they are often weather confused as they wear
Uggs when it is warm and short shorts when it is cold, sometimes even mixing the two. They are very emotional people, relentlessly fighting with other thots and going on hormonal rampages.
Types of high schoolers
(aka Amygdala)
The amygdala is a small, almond shaped section of nervous tissue located in the temporal lobes. It is a structure of the limbic
system involved in emotion and
movements, especially for
survival. The primary functions of the amygdala are fear, fight and flight. Stimulation of the amygdala will cause intense emotion. It also is involved with
learning and reward-processing.
These people are new to the school. They are constantly walking around with wide eyes, dilated pupils, heavy breathing and heart pounding. They are scared, nervous, and paranoid as they walk around the school.
They are always avoiding the seniors, but will sometimes tell off a teacher trying to look cool in front of their peers. Usually they try hard in their classes so they can learn more, but most teachers have discovered that giving them candy and stickers for good work is the best way to keep their attention.

These are the students that only convert short-term memory into long-term memory. They shove their heads into their textbooks and the only outcome they want is to get into college, an elite school. They are generally reasonable and able to imagine things in three-dimensions, mainly with the help of their textbooks. In class they are constantly paying attention to the lesson and nothing else, so don’t even bother asking them how their day was. Most likely they will be the best tutor you’ll ever have.

Alysia Roberts was born with an abnormally large and dense parietal lobe. Early in her childhood she showed mastery in spatial reasoning, those 3-D puzzles were no match for her! “Soulja Boy”, and the “Whip and Nae Nae”. Now she is the great Parobertal Lobe of the Weymouth High School dance team. Spreading her great talents through half time dances, fouettes, and leggings.
Parietal Lobe-
The parietal lobe sits at the upper, back part of the cortex and is responsible for spatial reasoning, as well as processing senses such as taste, temperature, and touch.
Primary Motor CortexLocated in the frontal lobe and a part of the
Cerebral Cortex, the Primary
Motor Cortex is critical for motor movements. Specific areas of the cortex correspond with moving specific areas of the body.
Given the talent to move her body in many different ways, Motor Stokex can bend and twist her body to fight off her enemies. With these superhuman abilities, it is difficult for enemies to strike at her during a fight because she can always bend to fight them off. Her costume; a plain blue sweatshirt, gives off the appearance that she is like any other human, but only to be surprised that she is actually a crazy contortionist!
Along with her powers to bend and twist, Motor Stokex can run fast and is super strong! Getting on the bad side of this dynamic superhero would not be a smart idea!!
Temporal Lobe
Structure located in the Cerebral Cortex, in front of the occipital lobe and behind the temples that is responsible for auditory processing and understanding language. It also plays a strong role in allowing humans to recognize faces.
French and Sign Language teacher by day, superhero by night. Sporting her black uniform with occasional pink, Kameporal Kames, aka Ms. Kames, uses her power of understanding and comprehend every language to defeat terrorists who threaten to destroy the world. With help from her enhanced
Wernicke’s Area, she decrypts and translates their secret messages that contain their heinous plans.
On her free time, she searches through the government’s data base for any small criminals needing to be brought to justice as well. She never forgets these corrupt faces and if it so happens she comes across one on the streets, she makes sure justice is served.

The Frontal Lobe is a part of the cerebral cortex. It is the section of the brain that is responsible for coordinating the messages from the other cerebral lobes. The Frontal Lobe is most importantly in charge of decision making, along with its other responsibilities of problem solving, concentration, and even is involved in many aspects of personality.
As a child in Weymouth begins their academic career, in our lovely Primary Schools, they begin to come across some issues. These small beings will begin to wonder “How do I cross the Street?” or “Should I eat those Skittles off the ground?”. Thank goodness for those children, because

• Kelsi is a piano player who writes the music for the musicals. Troy Bolton would say that she is the “playmaker” of the show, like in a basketball game. Kelsi is shy at first because she lets Sharpay control the music for the play and make it how she wants it.
However, Kelsi decides that she needs to voice her opinions and stand up for herself.
She starts to play her music how she wants it to be. Brockelsi’s area allows you to say what you want.
• Broca’s Area (Cerebal Cortex): located in the left frontal lobe of the left hemisphere of the brain and is connected to Wernicke’s area by a large bundle of fibers; involved in the control of speech, loss of speech or a speech disorder can result in Broca aphasia
At Weymouth High school the gold building represents the left hemisphere. Looking at the school this building is on the left. But more importantly it is where all the math classes and foreign language classes take place. Math classes force students to analyze problems and think logically. Foreign language classes make students process verbal communication, like Spanish or
French vocabulary.
The left hemisphere of the brain processes the logical and verbal information. In this hemisphere people process math, analyze and think logically about things. Also, the left hemisphere process words such as the lyrics of a song, along with reading and writing.
However this hemisphere does not control motor movement.
Mrs. Galusha knows a thing or two about the art of language, especially when it comes to using it as her own form of mind control to persuade others. However in order to persuade others, she must enlist in the help of her left hemisphere to know exactly what language to use and what logic she can use to build her argument and her rhetoric repertoire. Of course, these skills are nothing if she can’t physically write her arguments down. Being a right-y, she again uses her GaLEFTa hemisphere to control her right hand so that she can show the world the power she has when it comes to putting a pen to paper.
THE LEFT HEMISPHERE: responsible for all of our language skills; such as speaking, reading, and writing. Left hemisphere is also the logic center of our brains; giving us the ability to reason as well as perform tasks such as scientific and mathematical equations.
Finally, it controls the entire the right side of our body.
The brain’s right hemisphere processes motor skills and more creative things. This hemisphere allows people to draw and be artistic as well as visualize things. It allows people to use their imagination and learn the tune or beats to a song.
However this hemisphere does not control any verbal communication.
The maroon building at Weymouth High
School represents the right hemisphere of the brain. Looking at the school the maroon building is to the right. Maroon has all the art classes that allow students to create art using their motor skills and classes like ceramics force students to be spatially aware of what they are making. Band classes are also in the maroon building.
Here students learn the tune of the songs and understand the beats in the music.
In our version of Weymouth High School we named the connectors after the corpus callosum. These two long hallways allow students, or messages, to pass from the language and logic left gold hemisphere to the artistic right maroon hemisphere. The connectors allow the two buildings to be connected through the flow of information from students, just as the corpus callosum does for the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
The corpus callosum is a thick band like structure made of nerve fibers. It sits under the cortex and it connects the left and right hemispheres. The corpus callosum allows for the left and right hemispheres to communicate and send messages to each other.
