What is beat? Students can practice their grade level songs by accessing our website. The first, second and third grade students have been exploring concepts of beat and rhythm. First, the students experienced physical examples of steady beat within a piece of music. The student’s also explored, labeled and manipulated aspects of rhythm using eighth, quarter and half notes in common time. At the end of their explorations, the students created a class rhythm composition and performed it using classroom instruments. Composer Spotlight: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was known as one of the most famous composers of the Classical Era.
