Course Goal: To provide students with an understanding of how our economy operates
and the systems and markets that influence everyday life.
Text: Macroeconomics , by O’Sullivan, Sheffrin, Perez, 7th Edition.

Final
Attendance: Attendance will be taken. Perfect attendance will earn you 25 bonus
points.
Exams:
There will be 5 exams worth 100 points each. The tests consist of
multiple choice and true and false questions. The tests have 50 questions
worth 2 points each. We use the 50 question scantron to record your
answers. (Form No. 882-E). 500 points possible.
Homework: Homework is assigned each class. The homework is worth
a total of 200 points.
Quizzes:
There will be 4 quizzes, worth 25 points each. 100 points possible.
Projects:
I will assign 6 current events projects worth 25 points each. 150 points.
Class Participation: Each class will have a class participation assignment. If you miss
class you will not be allowed to make it up. 150 points.
Extra Credit: Hand in Wall Street Journal articles relating to items we discuss in class,
worth 5 points each up to 25 points.
Make Ups:
There will be no make ups for exams, quizzes or homework, except
for medical reasons. I will consider non-medical reasons on an
individual basis but you MUST contact me either by phone or email
AFTER you miss the class and BEFORE the next class.
Grading:
There will be five exams and a final. Each exam is worth 100 points. The
final is worth 150 points.
The grading scale is based on a possible 1000 points. I will drop your
lowest test score if you take the final.

Incomplete: This grade will be given only if an emergency prevents a person from
finishing the class.
