The children should think about the best way to display the information they have in a quality way. sentences types and the different effects they can have on their reader. We have been examining the grammatical structure of varying sentence types and how to use this knowledge to craft them successfully. We then applied this knowledge to rewriting stories, such as ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ for a more grown up audience. This week in Maths, we have been applying our number skills to solving word problems with more than one step. Children have been challenging themselves to continually increase the difficulty of their tasks and work at a higher level than they ever have before. We have now begun our new Science topic, ‘Science in the Sea’ and the children have created an interactive display, inviting the viewer to answer questions and questions about marine life. Last week our attendance was 94.8%. Let’s aim for 100% next week. Best wishes, Miss Saunders Worker of the Week Ollie Luke – Ollie has been working very hard on his Maths all week and has shown perseverance and resourcefulness when coming up with different strategies to solve tricky word problems.
