The Role: Director of Organization Development

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
 The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and
communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the
organization
 He or she will provide support as needed and adjust to varying demands of
projects and staff members.
 He or she will be a good listener who is open to taking coaching and
feedback and is focused on organizational success not individual concerns.
 The candidate will be respectful of the historical context at Dale Carnegie
while recognizing future trends to pave the way for progress.
 This person will manage diverse projects elements that focus on project
design, organization development, and interventions that improve work
performance.
 The successful candidate will be a confident doer/manager, willing to jump
in to projects on their own while growing the skills of their team members
to take on more projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
 Advanced degree (MA/MS/PhD) in an O/I or OD related discipline
preferred.
 5+ years OI or OD experience with emphasis in assessment, evaluation,
coaching and research, desired.
 Must have effective skills in the areas of needs assessment, project
management, project design and development and program evaluation.
 Comprehensive knowledge of current OI/OD theories and principles.
 Strong writing, editing and visual design skills. Experience developing
creative and engaging interventions in professional organization
environments.
 Experience in delivering coaching and feedback meetings to support the
effective use of assessments and feedback tools.
 Experience analyzing survey data and developing recommendations for
organization direction or learning program design.
 Project planning and time management skills essential. Ability to manage
and meet deadlines while being able to adapt to changing priorities.
 Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Leads the OD team to enhance offerings, services, processes and systems
to grow the assessment and evaluation portion of the business.
 Develops and implements new assessment tools needed to expand
Customized Corporate Solutions work across the DCT network.
 Drives the customization and implementation of the Transfer Logix system
in the DCT network. Supports franchisees in proposing, selling,
implementing and analyzing assessment, transfer and evaluation projects
with clients.
 Partners with subject matter experts to quickly master and organize
complex information to produce clear, effective and engaging OD
interventions that meet the goals and objectives of the client.
 Provides executive coaching to clients to assist franchisees in building
business and enhancing assessment sales.
 Other duties as assigned.
 Some travel for training and project work purposes: anticipate 25% - 35%
travel
 Manage project elements among various instructional design and
organization development staff members.
 Test new social media and technology tools to determine potential fit in the
redesign of DCT curricula and individual programs.
Location: St. Louis, Missouri or Hauppauge, NY preferred; Virtual office
acceptable
