Andrew Jackson: The person
 How his background contributed to his feelings about government and people
 Understand Jacksonian Democracy and why so many people related to Jackson
 Be prepared to take a position on whether Jackson should or should not be
considered a great president. You should be able to find enough evidence to
support either argument and be ready to explain your position using that evidence.
Issues during Jackson’s presidency:
 Understand the regional differences that existed during Jackson’s presidency and
the basis for each of their economies. (North, South and West)
 Nullification Crisis: This is a complicated issue! You should understand the
circumstances that led to the crisis and the people involved.

 What was Jackson’s main concern regarding nullification?
 Where else in US history did nullification become and issue?
 What was the actual Crisis?
 How was the issue resolved?

they were removed to.

 Why the land in Georgia becomes so valuable to the US govt.
 The Supreme Court case of Worcester v. Georgia and its result
 Trail of Tears and the result of the removal of the Cherokee
