 No

 Election resolved in the House of
Representatives
 Henry Clay got his supporters to vote for
Adams and after Adams became president he
made Clay Secretary of State.
 Jackson’s supporters said they made a
corrupt bargain

 Wanted to improve education and roads
 Because of his unpopularity, was unable to
accomplish anything
