You can take notes to STUDY, but not
use on the test.
General Review
• When there are 2 or more applications open at
the same time, a button appears on the task bar
for each one.
• There are many ways to move text- NOT just the
drag-and-drop method
• A marquee is a scrolling text message.
• A computer network consists of computers
connected so that they can communicate with
each other and so that computer users can share
information and resources.
• Windows 98 is an example of an operating system.
• Examples of application software: computer games and

• Windows Explorer is used to organize the files and
folders on your computer’s hard drive or network
drives.

• The top-level page on a Web site is known as the
Index page
• A hyperlink allows someone to move to a new
location – does not have to be only within your
own Web page.
• When creating a Web page, a bookmark is a
specific location within your page that a hyperlink
will access when clicked.
• An interactive button is a FrontPage component
that can only be linked to another page within

• Tables are still often used on Web pages.
• Links that connect to another site on the
Internet are called external links
• A well designed home page should contain: a
brief description of the purpose of the Web
page, the name of an individual or corporation
and links to find more information.
• HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language
• In most cases, the file name for the home
page of a Web site should be Index
• In FrontPage, the view that shows the levels of
the pages on a Web site is Navigation
• To open an existing Web site in FrontPage,
select Open Web Site from the File menu

Word Review
• Using Print Preview to view documents before
printing can help save paper.
• When editing a document, you can add space
between words by pressing the space bar.
• To close a document and open a new one, you

• To add another slide click the New Slide button
on the Insert menu.
• You can view you presentation by selecting Slid
Show from the View menu.
• To view all of the slides at one time, click the slide
sorter button
• To enhance your presentation, you can add
special transitions, build up bulleted lists, use
animation.
• Press the Esc key to exit a slide show
• When an Animation Effect is used, click the
left mouse button to advance the slide items
Excel Review
• This is the spreadsheet program for Microsoft
Office
• To create a college expense budget you would
use excel
Access Review
• To create an inventory for a CD collection, you
would use Access
• Think DATABASE when you think ACCESS
• Actual data is only part of the database, an
Access database also contains: queries,
reports and tables
Publisher Reivew
• When inserting a picture into Microsoft
Publisher, you must first draw a Picture Frame
