What is BAP?

Honors business fraternity for ACCT, FIN, & BIT majors.

Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919
•
Gamma Lambda chapter of VT was established in 1967
•
There are over 300 chapters on colleges and university
campuses world-wide.

Over 300,000 members initiated since BAP’s formation.
• Dues- $100 for first semester, $50 after you have been
initiated.

Joining Requirements
•
Must be majoring in ACIS, BIT, or Finance
•
Are a sophomore, junior, senior, or masters student
•
Overall GPA above 3.2 (for juniors and seniors)
•
Dues: $150 for the semester you are a candidate (first
semester), $50 each semester you are a member in BAP
•
Once a candidate has received an invitation to join, he or she is
expected to attend all events during the semester. If you are
unable to attend, please email us at vtechbap@gmail.com

Higher requirements than older members: GPA of
3.6 overall
•
Membership is VERY limited.

Attendance and Expectations

Please make sure to bring your Hokie Passport to all
meetings!
Dress is ALWAYS business casual unless otherwise
notified
Candidates: Required to come to ALL weekly meetings
and events and 1 tutoring session during the semester.
Members: Eligible to miss up to 2 weekly
meetings/events per semester. Required to come to at
least 1 tutoring session during the semester.

• Sessions will be 1 hour
long

Will be open to ACIS,
FIN, and BIT Students
• Will be required to come
to 1 of the sessions

More helpful for those
students and easier for
members. We want this
to be a useful service
event to all involved

ACIS 2115 & 2116 tests.

Meetings are held every Monday night from 7-8 PM in
Surge 104b
Will have the Big 4, regional accounting firms, and other
finance and information technology companies at these
meetings
Will host tutoring sessions this fall.
Recruiting events with the firms
Two/three socials as well.

Scholarships
•
In order to reward good academic achievement and
involvement in BAP, we plan on giving away Beta
Alpha Psi scholarships at the spring initiation
banquet
•
Not just based on grades but also your involvement
in the chapter and professor recommendations. The
more involved you are, the better chance you will
have at winning!
•
Open to those students who will return to Virginia
Tech the following year.
