Observe and analyze a freezing point depression in order to determine the molar mass of an unknown solute 5.3.12.B.1; 9.1.C.4;9.2.B.2; 9.2.C.1, 2, 3, 4, 5; 9.2.F.1,2 Students will demonstrate understanding of concepts of colligative properties Students will apply boiling point and freezing point concepts to solvents other than water. Students will practice colligative property problems in preparation for a test 5.3.12.B.1; 5.6.12.B.1 5.3.12.B.1; 5.6.12.B.1 5.3.12.B.1; 5.6.12.B.1 Lab Activity Part Two: Students will take a quiz that has one problem of each type: Freezing Point Boiling Point Vapor Pressure Osmotic Pressure. Quiz will also contain an AP Style multistep question utilizing one concept connected to past concepts Students will complete a lab analyzing the freezing point of a pure solvent (water) and then determining the molar mass of an unknown solute from the freezing point depression it causes.
