Through an in-depth discussion of the action ideas and design parameters identified at the last meeting,
action team members narrowed down the ideas and concepts they would like to pursue to a list of five
main ideas:
Develop Social and Life Assets (Team 2)
1. Identify clear youth success focus areas and common language. Train schools and organizations
• Educate organizations & schools on focus areas (e.g. positive mindset, grit, hope, engagement,
problem solving, goal setting, self-regulation, innovation)
• Create a plan for getting everyone on board (i.e. goal setting, 1:1 ratio, etc.)
2. Establish advisory crews/groups for students comprised of representatives from local
orgs/programs
• Students make a connection with community members
3. Experiential/career programming
• Survey students to identify interest areas for experiential/career programming
• Create system for organizations and programs to plug into … the access points
• Base types of offerings on survey. Train providers in parameters and common language.
[Note: The above framework could serve as a template for Enrichment Wednesday programming]
