AT-WILL EMPLOYEE JOB DESCRIPTION Child Care Council of Kentucky Position Title: CCAP Eligibility Specialist FLSA Status: Non-exempt Type of Position: Hourly Department Name: Child Care Council Assistance Program Reports To: CCAP Regional Supervisor Management Status: Non-Management Direct Reports: N/A JOB SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the CCAP Eligibility Specialist is to implement the Child Care Assistance Program according to regulations and policies of the Division of Child Care and Child Care Council of Kentucky. The purpose of the Eligibility Specialist is to provide a service to the public who qualify for the Child Care Assistance Program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Implement Child Care Assistance Program in accordance with policies, regulations and contract requirements (KAR:2160). Be present in the office daily to carry out the day to day requirements of the job, including interviewing clients. Maintain and follow all timeframes and deadlines set forth by CCAP policy. Stay up to date on computer programs and specific databases that are needed to gather CCAP information for the program. Compose, prepare, or ensure timely responses to a variety of written and/or verbal inquiries. Possess excellent organizational and time management skills to stay up to date on daily case work and workbasket requirements per CCAP policy. Possess the ability to adapt to frequent change in relation to policy and regulation with the CCAP. Essential function of the job require staff member to be onsite. Prepares and compile statistical and narrative reports monthly. Quarterly participation in community meetings. Ability to follow verbal and written communications from management staff. Ability to make independent decisions utilizing good judgment. Ability to type accurately. Possess the ability to adapt to change/new policies. Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Possesses exceptional customer service skills and the ability to respond to customers in an efficient and accurate manner. Willingness to travel to other counties and use own car as transportation as needed. Demonstrates ability to work on a team. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of company and customer records. Communicates effectively (orally and written). Demonstrates capability to strategically plan ahead to meet deadlines and future company needs. Possesses strong organizational and detail oriented skills. Possesses strong typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of data. Proficient in database management. Understands general office applications and possesses skills in operating various office equipment. Demonstrates proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office software and Web related database applications. Exhibits credibility, flexibility, and adaptability. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Social Work or a related field is preferred. Work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must pass a Criminal Record Check. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB Frequently communicates with employees and customers in person, on the telephone, and on the computer to provide assistance. Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room. Occasionally drives motor vehicle to visit other offices and attend meetings. Occasionally exposed to outside elements when traveling for business. Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to fifteen (15) pounds when moving supplies. May be required to stoop, bend, or kneel.
