The Capacity Planning Team is responsible for the capacity
management (monitoring, analysis, forecasting, planning and
reporting) of the shared 3G RAN, mobile backhaul and backbone
transmission networks to shareholder requirements and agreed
performance targets.
The Capacity Planning Team reports directly to Director of Network
Design, Planning and Deployment.

Key Responsibilities
& Accountabilities:


Responsible for the proactive capacity management (monitoring,
analysis, forecasting, planning and reporting) of the mobile
backhaul and backbone transmission networks to shareholder
requirements and agreed performance targets.

Responsible for owning the detailed capacity planning processes
for the shared backhaul and backbone transmission networks.
Producing and maintaining Capacity Plans (including deployment
and upgrade requirements) for the mobile backhaul and backbone
transmission networks.

Responsible for driving the evolution of capacity management
capability in MBNL based on industry best practice and excellent
execution.

Responsible for ensuring transmission capacity planning process
and associated guidelines are followed by transmission planning
and implementation teams.
Ensuring transmission capacity is planned to meet MBNL targets.
Responsibility to identify the capacity upgrades required and work
with delivery teams to ensure these are progressed with
appropriate priority.
Responsible for forecasting transmission capacity requirements
and supporting the capex budgeting process.
Ensuring MBNL has access to comprehensive regular reports on
capacity deployed, utilised and elements where capacity
thresholds are breached and identifying new reporting
requirements to meet business objectives





and Multi Service Network capacity planning.

Excellent knowledge of transmission and circuit
planning tools.
Significant capacity management experience of
multi service transmission networks with growing
traffic.
Good IT skills. Excel for processing and
modelling data. Ability to prepare PowerPoint
slides to present analysis.
Technical knowledge and experience of GPRS,
GSM, UMTS, HSPDA, LTE.
Experience of BT’s managed Ethernet service
(MEAS).
Experience of Huawei router equipment.
