NAMED 2013 FIVE STAR WEALTH MANAGER WINNER
Goelzer Investment Management, a full service investment management and advisory firm
headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is proud to congratulate Christopher Ryker for being
named a top investment manager in the 2013 Indianapolis Monthly Five Star Wealth Managers
of the Year Award. The Five Star Wealth Manager Award recognizes top investment managers
in Indianapolis. Chris, along with five other Goelzer investment professionals, will be featured
in the October issue of Indianapolis Monthly Magazine.
Christopher A. Ryker joined Goelzer Investment Management as senior vice president and
portfolio manager. Ryker, a chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) as well as a Certified Trust and
Financial Advisor (CTFA), serves on the firm’s Investment Review Committee and the
Investment Policy Committee.
Before joining Goelzer, Ryker was a vice president and portfolio manager of National City
Bank’s Private Client Group from 2001 to 2007, where he directed client equity and fixedincome investments worth $655,000,000. in market value. Previous to his position at National
City, Ryker was a vice president at Trust Investment Advisors of Indianapolis responsible for
equity analysis, trading, strategy and portfolio management from 1992 to 2001. Ryker began
his investment career with the State of Indiana’s Department of Financial Institution in 1980 as
a bank examiner. In 1983 he joined Indiana Bancshares of Greenwood where he served as its
vice president and controller as well as managing investment portfolios, mortgage sales, bank
accounting and regulatory reporting.
Ryker a native of Madison, Indiana, is a 1980 graduate of Indiana University where he earned
his B.A. degree in Business Economics and Public Policy. He is also a 1990 graduate of the
three-year School of Banking in the Advanced Bank Management Program of the University of
Wisconsin.
A distinguished honor, the 2013 Indianapolis Monthly Five Star Wealth Manager Awards are
determined by surveying consumers, financial service professionals, and Indianapolis Monthly
subscribers. Selected from more than 8,400 wealth managers in the Indianapolis area, the
winners were ranked on the following criteria: customer service, integrity,
knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives,
post-sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. Only wealth managers
with more than 5 years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.
