NAMED 2013 FIVE STAR WEALTH MANAGER WINNER
Goelzer Investment Management, a full service investment management and advisory firm
headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, is proud to congratulate Brett McKamey for being
named a top investment manager in the 2013 Indianapolis Monthly Five Star Wealth Managers
of the Year Award. The Five Star Wealth Manager Award recognizes top investment managers
in Indianapolis. Brett, along with five other Goelzer investment professionals, were featured in
the October 2013 issue of Indianapolis Monthly Magazine.
Brett joined our firm in 1990, and was elected President and Chief Operating Officer in 2003.
Brett’s involvement and leadership has been critical in the growth and success of the firm over
the past two decades. With over 26 years of investment management experience, he is a
respected member of the firm’s Executive Management Committee. He also serves as Chairman
of the Investment Policy Committee, a member of the Account Review Committee, and a
trustee of the firm’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
Prior to joining Goelzer Investment Management, Brett served as a Financial Consultant with
Shearson Lehman. He began his career in domestic and international investment portfolio
management and marketing with InterFirst Bank of Dallas, serving as a Credit Analyst and
Funding Specialist. Upon joining the Bank’s London office, he became responsible for the
marketing of investment securities and cash management services to institutional investors and
also conducted comprehensive financial analyses for domestic and international borrowers.
Brett graduated from Indiana University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
Brett is a recipient of the 2000 Indianapolis Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” award,
recognizing business and professional leaders. He has also been recognized in the Indianapolis
Monthly Magazine as a “FIVE STAR in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager” in each year of the
award’s existence, 2008 - 2013.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”), Brett is a member of the CFA Society of Indianapolis.
Brett has long been active in civic, educational, and philanthropic organizations. He is a Trustee
and Treasurer of the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy and a Trustee of the Lincoln
Collection Foundation. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of the Indiana
Historic Landmarks Foundation, the Indiana University School of Medicine Planned Giving
Committee and the Indiana University Kelly School of Business Board of Visitors. Brett is past
President of the South Indiana Foundation of the United Methodist Church. He served for 5
years as Chairman of the Racquet Run to benefit the Riley Hospital for Children and was the
recipient of the event’s 1997 “Tournament Volunteer of the Year” award.

A distinguished honor, the 2013 Indianapolis Monthly Five Star Wealth Manager Awards are
determined by surveying consumers, financial service professionals, and Indianapolis Monthly
subscribers. Selected from more than 8,400 wealth managers in the Indianapolis area, the
winners were ranked on the following criteria: customer service, integrity,
knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives,
post-sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. Only wealth managers
with more than 5 years of experience in the financial services industry were considered.
“There is over 9,000 wealth managers in the Indianapolis area and the Five Star Professional
research team applies a vigorous research and evaluation process to identify service
professionals who provide quality services to their clients. The award never goes to more than
the top 7%, but this year you have to be below the top 4% to even qualify,” says Jason Meyer, a
Five Star Professional.
