David: Now it Begins!....Last week we talked about how Jesus was "on a roll" and everyone Loved him and was impressed by his wisdom and actions...and then, he boldly mentioned that the Scripture he just read was now "fulfilled". Wow...what a statement. In this weeks Gospel he boldly makes statements and challenges that incite the Temple goers to the point that they push him to the edge of the cliff, wanting to throw him over it head first....but he is able to slip away. I can just hear some of his disciples saying..."Jesus, you had to go and ruin it didn't you...everything was just fine and now they want to kill us". But Jesus knew that to truly begin his ministry meant that he would make waves and cause discord, but he did it anyway. Doing and saying the "right thing" always has it's consequences. We must be willing to stand up for the truth even though it may cause us discomfort. TOLEDO DIOCESAN ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL This weekend we heard Bishop Blair kick off the Annual ACA Campaign. Our goals this year are as follows: St. Boniface $14,000. (Last year we collected $18,400. Our Lady of Lourdes $12,000. (Last year we collected $13,900.) Next week is commitment weekend and there will be envelopes in the pews along with letters that you receive through the mail. Thank You for your Kindness!
