Thank a Teacher
If you are interested in Thanking a McCallum Teacher:
Austin ISD was selected to be one of the four cities to launch Farmers Insurance
national campaign to "Thank a Million Teachers" and to provide teachers an
opportunity to receive grants up to $2,500 to pursue National Board Certification.
Everyone is invited to thank a teacher on the website
http://www.thankamillionteachers.com/ during the months of January and
February.
Once teachers are thanked on the website, they can submit proposals up to
$2,500 to pursue National Board certification or to purchase supplies for their
classroom if already National Board certified. The public will be invited to vote on
submitted teacher proposals during March and grants will be awarded in April.
This four-month cycle will repeat several times during the year.
The Office of Educator Quality encourages all campuses and communities to
take this opportunity to thank a teacher. If you have any questions, please email
Mary Tijerina at mary.tijerina@austinisd.org or call 414-9560.
