Next Meeting:
October 2, 2014 at 10:30am
This meeting will be WebEx. As you sign in it may help others if you put your commission in parentheses
behind your name so everyone knows which commission we each represent. Once you enter your name
and email you can enter your phone number and then you will receive a phone call (instead of you
having to dial in). If you are not at a computer there is a number to call in.

Carmen discussed the Master Data Management Views which she is creating and
showed examples of the draft structure. As we move into the PeopleSoft there will
need to be discussion and updates to the charter regarding how to deal with these
views.
Data Alert review – we agreed to conduct a 6 month review.
 Data Alerts are communication in addition to regular commission and SBCTC
communication about data and policy.
 Dave – likes the idea of making information available to everyone – transparency
 People felt like many data entry staff are not interested – they wait for others to
forward the information – so they are getting it, just not directly, thus the number
of people signed up is not a valid measure of its success.
 Discussion about how it works like it was intended and the information is easy to
review.
 Carmen will send a brief request to the listserve for feedback
Update on Carmen’s new position with SBCTC – out of Ed and Research, back in IT –
focus on ctcLink and data governance, thus data governance is now an official part of a
position at SBCTC.
PNAIRP presentation – briefly mentioned it and asked if anyone had some feedback on
our process. No discussion.
Data Summit will be held in March 2015 – all higher ed in WA
 IT track
 Data track – including data governance
Data Governors to do:
Provide feedback on data governance process for both PNAIRP presentation and also for Data Summit.
Susan will send email request later.
