6.) Course Objectives
a. Pre-Calculus completes the formal study of the elementary functions begun in Algebra 1
and 2 and is a gateway to Calculus and College Level Mathematics.

b. Polynomial and Rational Functions
c. Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
d. Trigonometric Functions, Identities and Equations
e. Vectors, Polar Coordinates and Complex Numbers
f. Sequences, Series and Limits
8.) Classwork, Homework, Quizzes and Tests
a. Classwork/Homework: 10% of grade
i. Classwork – Includes class participation in discussions, coming to the board,
handed out work, group work and projects.
ii. Homework – Is to be done at home by going onto connected.mcgraw-hill.com
b. Quizzes/Tests: 90%
i. Quizzes – Are made up of Apple Frogs, miniature and large assessments
ii. Tests – Are cumulative assessments of the previous chapter covered
9.) Makeups
a. Classwork/Homework – Must be collected on the day that the student has returned and
the number of days absent is the number of days that they have to hand all work in.
b. Quizzes/Tests – Are to be made up in Room 401 during Lunch. Students have exactly
one week to make up a quiz or test.
10.) Classroom Policy

b. Students must engage themselves in class discussions
i. I encourage questions to be answered; wrong answers are as good as correct
answers.
c. Cell Phone Policy:
i. Cell phones are not allowed in class or during exams. Please switch off your
electronics or turn them to silent mode during class. Disruptions caused by
electrical devices will not be tolerated. You may use calculators to do your
computations during class or during exams, if needed. Cell phones cannot be
used as calculator for this class.
d. Students must check my teacher page and connected.mcgraw-hill.com for homework
updates.
