and the White Nile.
 It connects in Khartoum.
 It is the longest river in the word.
 Many people have heard of it because it flows through
many countries e.g. Egypt , Sudan , Uganda and
Ethiopia.
 The Nile is very important because if it did not exist life
would be hard in both Egypt and Sudan.

Transport
 We use water from the Nile to plant trees and papyrus
for making boats which allow us to travel from one
place to another to sell and exchange goods.
Homes
 The Nile River gives us water to plant trees to build houses
for shelter
 Nile mud is used to build mud houses and make bricks
 Homes protect us against wild animals , from heat , cold and
give us privacy.
Plants
 Water from the Nile helps us grow plants for food for man
and animals.
 From plants people make boats and furniture.
 They also make fire.
Animals
 Animals drink Nile water not sea water as sea water is
salty. Animals eat plants irrigated by water from the
Nile.
Pollution
 People forget the importance of water so they pollute it
with animal / human waste , garbage , dead bodies ,
ship oil and chemicals from factories .Polluted water
may kill fish , animals and human beings.
Power Generation
 People make dams that have magnetic fans that
produce electricity which helps people operate
electronics ,electrical appliances , factories and light for
places.
Drought/flood
 When it becomes hot for many days , this may cause
death from hunger and thirst. On the other hand if it
over floods it can drown houses ,people and animals .
Reasonable flood is good for farmers.
Water Security
There is now friction between Sudan , Egypt and
Ethiopia over Nile waters . Each country wants a bigger
share of Nile waters to help it generate more power.
Conclusion
 People should share the Nile waters not fight over it.
 So they all live in peace not war and chaos.
