Monday:
Socratic Seminar. Come prepared with questions concerning “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and
“Everything that Rises Must Converge”. Questions should center around characterization, racism
(prejudice), and relationships. You will be allowed to contribute three times, when you have done so,
you must not speak again. EVERYONE must participate and ask questions!
Homework: Read “The Rocking-Horse Winner” pg. 100-110.
Tuesday:
“The Rocking-Horse Winner” Quiz
Discussion of IRONY (verbal, situational and dramatic), SYMBOLISM, and REPETITION.
Homework: Read the information on Sandra Cisneros pgs 238-240. Read “Eleven” and “Barbie Q” pgs
241-244. Answer question #7 on page 243 and #7 on page 245.
Wednesday:
Read the short story “The Black Cat” pgs 137-143. Answer questions 3,4,5,6,11, 12 on pgs 143-144.
Remember you are answering them for an AP class….
Thursday:
In-class writing assignment from an AP test.
Homework: Read “The Cask of Amontillado” pgs 144-148. Answer questions 3,4,5, and 11. Remember
you are answering them for an AP class….
Friday:

and legal prosecution
puncheons: a large cask of varying capacity, but usually 80 gallons
palazzo: an impressive public building or private residence; palace
