SouthWest Transit Marketing, Communications and Administrative Services Coordinator The Marketing, Communications and Administrative Coordinator works in a team environment to support the CEO and all SouthWest Transit’s departments, ensures accurate and relevant information is disseminated in a timely and professional manner to transit customers, Commissioners, local-state and federal units of government, area businesses, local communities, and SouthWest Transit employees. This position is also responsible for the effective development of marketing plans, public relations and communication projects, print and electronic media initiatives, and the monthly management of all Commission activities. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 1. Plan and implement annual agency marketing campaigns. 2. Create and implement communications plans for agency initiatives that promote positive perceptions and increase awareness within the SouthWest Transit communities. 3. Write publications both internally and externally including the SouthWest Transit rider and employee newsletters/notices, press releases, Twitter, Facebook, and website. 4. Develop materials, video programing, website content, and social media outreach. 5. Develop publications and manage print production, including developing specifications, working with printers, and graphic designers. 6. Provide effective, attractive design for agency communications produced in-house. 7. Work collaboratively with IT to ensure website operates as designed, and plan/implement web enhancements. 8. Assist the CEO, Directors and Managers with written communications, talking points, and power-point presentations. 9. Manage monthly Commission meetings including distributing the agenda and meeting packets, recording meeting summaries, and taking care of all meeting preparations. 10. Assist with data collection activities including survey development and distribution, analyzing results, and reporting on findings. 11. Assist in the preparation of funding applications and grant proposals. 12. Monitor local and regional media for information related to transit and SouthWest Transit. 13. Represent agency at community functions and events as needed. 14. Coordinate all agency-led events. 15. Develop and manage business and community outreach programs regarding SouthWest Transit’s services. 16. Responsible for schedule development and printing. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Three years’ experience and/or Associate Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, graphic design or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to plan, design and implement marketing campaigns and activities. Working knowledge/understanding of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Power Point, Word, Excel, video production, and various social media platforms. Strong writing skills including previous experience in writing news stories and features. Strong verbal communications skills including the ability to present ideas coherently and persuasively. Knowledge and the effective use of communication techniques and practices using a variety of communication tools such as, digital and print content, news media releases, videography, photography, special events and spoken words. Knowledge of website updating and maintenance utilizing content management systems. Ability to follow-through and strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Basic knowledge of budgeting and time management. Ability to work some evenings and weekends as assigned. POSITION REPORTS TO: CEO SALARY RANGE: $40,000-$65,000 depending upon qualifications.
