EarthCare: The Leadership Challenge of the 21st Century is a weeklong environment-focused leadership
development program for current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in which participants are exposed
to various environmental challenges through interactive workshops, tours, roundtable sessions with
business leaders, team-building exercises, and an etiquette dinner, all while living on the campus of
Berry College. Program dates: June 8-13; cost of attendance provided by Georgia Power. Interested
students will need to complete the application and request a recommendation, found on the 21st
Century Leaders website, by April 30, 2014, by 11:59 p.m.

NYC Fashion Summer Camps for students entering grades 9 – 12. Each week long session teaches
students the fundamentals of the fashion industry by providing an insider’s perspective. Students stay
in the LIM College dorms on the Upper East Side. Tuition: $1950; $1760 if students register with a

Clayton State University
The Harry S. Downs Center for Continuing Education is offering a series of programs for all ages designed
to improve reading and study skills, and to stimulate a greater interest in reading. High school programs
should increase reading speed while improving comprehension, concentration, and recall. They also
teach the best way to read textbooks, take notes, and study for tests. Classes are taught by professional
instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. Program dates: Sessions beginning May 30.

Passport2College offers college-level courses to rising juniors and seniors, and seniors who will graduate
May 2014, wishing to possibly earn college credit in Psychology, Electronics Technology, Human

Med Vac
Medical Center of Central Georgia & Three Rivers AHEC offers a summer camp for high school students
at least 15 years old to explore careers available in the medical profession. This year’s event will include
a city wide disaster drill, a visit to the Bodies Exhibit, health career presentations, phlebotomy, and

Morehouse College Entrepreneurship Center Yes Camp is a unique non-residential experience offered
to Greater Atlanta high school students to expose them to the opportunities associated with
entrepreneurship. This two week summer program is designed to reach 25 high school students ages 1518 in the Greater Atlanta area to introduce them to the concept of entrepreneurship. Program dates:
June 2 – June 13. $25 application fee; tuition $300/week. Limited scholarships available. Application
deadline: April 1, 2014. Deadline extended to May 1st.
Sea World Orlando Career Camp

Students in grades 7-9 can experience what it takes to train and work with marine animals. Students in
grades 10-12 get a realistic, hands-on look at animal careers while working with animal experts to get
experience preparing food for the animals, cleaning habitats, creating enrichment for the animals plus
interacting with marine animals and snorkeling in a shark cage. Both resident camps are offered weekly
June 9 – August 9. All camp activities at SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s

SOaR Aviation Aerospace Science Summer Camp

A high-flying, academically-challenging week at Camp Long in Aiken, SC for rising 11th and 12th graders
and current seniors. Activities include field trips to Shaw Air Force Base and aircraft manufacturing
facilities, courses on aviation history, physics, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, meteorology, and
communications. Program dates: July 13-19. Space is limited. Tuition: $395 (S. Carolina students); $700

ACTAI’s 2014 Summer Tuskegee Airmen Aviation Career Training program offers comprehensive training
in the various aviation disciplines to students in grades 9th – 12th. Students in the program explore the
many career options available in aviation and aerospace. Classes are conducted in traditional
classrooms, simulators and airplanes, and actual flight training is included. Program dates: June 23 – 27.

Armstrong’s College of Health Professions Health Careers Summer Camp is a week-long enrichment
opportunity for rising high school juniors & seniors. It will give students an in-depth learning experience
with different health careers and will show them the career opportunities available in health
professions. To apply, students need a minimum GPA of 3.0, and minimum PSAT/SAT scores: Critical
Reading 530, Math 430, with an overall 1000 or ACT scores: English 24, Math 18, with a Composite 21.

Camp MAGIK (Mainly About Grief In Kids)

Camp MAGIK serves children ages 7-17 (FREE OF CHARGE) who have experienced the death of a parent,
sibling or other close family member within the past three years. Camp MAGIK will provide an
opportunity for children and teens to meet, talk, and process their grief with professional grief
counselors. Time will also be spent on play and fun as a way to help the children heal from the
experience of death in the family. Program dates: April 25 - 27 Cartersville, GA Deadline to apply April
18, 2014; May 16 - 18 Hampton, GA Deadline to apply May 09, 2014.
The camps are also offering a special Retreat for parents/guardians, which will be held at the same time
as the children’s camp (April 25-27; May 16-18). Cost for the adult retreat (children are free) is $25.00
which includes room, meals and all activities. Space for this option is limited. Scholarships are available.

The Summer Entrepreneurship and Business Academy is a week-long residential program for high
school students. Topics will include entrepreneurship, business, ethics, free enterprise, teamwork and

FSLA is a 3-week immersion language residential program at the Univ. of North Georgia. If you are
interested in a job with the FBI, US State Department, CIA, Homeland Defense, or as an officer in the US
Army after college, this academy may be for you. Rising 10-12th graders and 2014 high school graduates
interested in exploring international-related careers with the federal government will learn the
fundamentals of language such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Korean, French or German. Program dates:
June 9-28 or July 7-26. $1,895 includes tuition, room, meals, books, trips, and fees. Application
deadline: April 1st.

Wall Street on West Peachtree is a one-week, fast-paced, high-tech of learning about finance at one of
the nation’s top ranked business schools. The overall goal is to provide rising 9th through rising 12th
graders with a portfolio of basic money management and investing tools that will equip them to make
strong financial decisions and achieve long-term financial success. The program is limited to 80
students. Program dates: June 16 – 23 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Exploring Engineer Academy
10th, 11th and 12th graders will explore engineering as a career by engaging in hands-on engineering
activities, touring engineering facilities, and interacting with engineers and students from all major
engineering disciplines. The program consists of a different engineering theme each day with two
concurrent and separate STEM tracks - A Traditional Engineering Track and a Science Track. In addition
to focusing on math and science, the program also looks at problem solving, design and analysis, team
building, project management, communications and leadership. Scholarships are available. Program

ranging from biotechnology to entrepreneurship and creative writing, giving students deep exposure
and hands on experience.
At Summer College students ages 16-19 choose from more than 125 college courses in academic

The Sewanee Pre-college Field Studies Experience, for rising high school juniors and seniors with a
history of academic success, is designed for students who are passionate about the outdoors and want
to advance their knowledge and skills in the study of the environment. Students will have the
opportunity to explore Sewanee's ecologically diverse 13,000-acre campus under the guidance of faculty
members who are passionate about environmental education. This program provides an
interdisciplinary introduction to environmental studies. Financial aid is available. Program dates: June
