The Appointment
Vision Apprentices are working with The Fluidconnections Co (UK) Ltd to recruit an Accountancy apprentice
to work in their head office at New Ollerton.
Founded in 2000 to exclusively promote DMfit® the credible alternative and #2 in the world in the
manufacture and supply of fittings designed for the markets of drinks dispense and water purification.
The DMfit® product portfolio has undergone a tremendous development program since it was launched
and now contains more than 150 product lines which are available in 17 sizes in both inch and metric.
Potable water approvals are held worldwide and their client list continues to grow daily. Despite their
success, they continue to present their customers with the personal service that they would expect
themselves.
The Fluidconnections Company (UK) Ltd an ISO9001:2008 accredited company and celebrates its 10th year
in business by announcing the pending launch of Twistloc®, the plumbing and heating fitting system which
incorporates the latest developments in polymer and design technology. Developed over the last 2 years
with their Korean Partners, Twistloc® is enjoying acclaimed success in America after its launch in April
2009.
Continued expansion has brought about their third and final move to a new purpose built distribution
centre located on the fringes of Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. With 750 sq metres of office and
warehousing this new facility incorporates the latest energy saving devices including underfloor heating
serviced by a ground source heat pump, rainwater harvesting and an energy saving lighting system. With
enough land to develop a further 2,000 sq metre of facilities they look forward to further expansion of
their customer base and new areas of business
The successful apprentice will be completing an AAT Accountancy Apprenticeship at Level 2 and will be
employed directly by The Fluidconnections Co (UK) Ltd for the duration of the apprenticeship with possible
progression opportunities beyond.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Post
The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:






Purchase and Sales ledger functions through Sage Line 50 and Orderwise.
Understanding and managing both sterling and euro currency accounts.
Reconciling bank statements and credit card statements
Processing customer receipts
Preparing BACS payments for suppliers
Dealing with petty cash account and expenses claims
Administrative duties including:o Filing of various records/information
o Generating financial reports
o Answering the telephone- general reception duties
o Receiving visitors ensuring they are dealt with in a professional manner
o Taking mail to the post office and banking of cheques
Other Responsibilities





Assisting with credit control function
Assisting in year-end procedures
Communicating with customers and suppliers by email
Maintaining various information on spreadsheets
Any other duties in relation to clerical or accountancy duties as requested.

Skills, Qualities & Knowledge
GCSE Math Grade C or above
GCSE English Grade C or above
Organsied and good attention to detail
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Reliable with good time management
Happy to work as part of a small team
IT skills Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Can plan ahead, meet deadlines and multi task
Keen interest in a career in finance

Wages
From the 1st October 2014, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices aged 16-18, and those aged over
19 who are in the first year of their Apprenticeship, is set at £2.73 per hour. The NMW applies to time working and
time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age categories above will be
entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age
