RARE@MMU
Aims of the project
“to take a holistic view of institutional
arrangements for reward and recognition of
learning and teaching. The project will also
map institutional reward and recognition
arrangements to a model of the academic
lifecycle and seek to identify interrelationships and inter-dependencies within
the model”
• The RARE@MMU project will:
– strive to develop a new iteration of MMU’s
approach to the fostering of effective practice in
learning and teaching
– lead to the formulation of a coherent set of
targets across a range of metrics that describe the
staff development and human resources
development challenge.
Residential
• What rewards, and how, can we offer to individuals and
teams for the enhancement of learning and teaching?
• What questions would you ask to quantify teaching
excellence?
• What can we do to persuade sceptics and non-engaged
staff and managers to value and reward teaching?
• How can we persuade HoDs to be advocates of learning
and teaching?
