Dear Families, We would like to share with you Muir’s School Improvement Plan for the 2014-15 school year. The plan focuses on six areas to support your child’s education. Within each of these areas, we have created goals and ways to measure our progress throughout the year. We utilized the following educational pillars to support our plan to provide your child with a quality education focused on student growth and development: Common Core State Standards – To ensure all students are ready for success after high school by establishing clear, consistent guidelines for what every student should know and be able to do in math and English language arts. The standards also provide a way for teachers to measure student progress throughout the school year and ensure that students are on the pathway to success in their academic careers. Wisconsin Educator Effectiveness System – Provides a performance-based evaluation that leads to improved student learning by supporting the continuous improvement of educator practice. Administrators and licensed staff have gone through rigorous training and will see an increase in goal setting and observational structures with the goal of student success. MMSD’s Strategic Framework – Specific professional development will be provided to staff with the goal of student achievement through our District’s Strategic Framework. Please contact our school at any time to learn more about Muir’s School Improvement Plan. Sincerely, Andrea Kreft
