Honors Envtl Science: Note Taking Guide for Chapter Notes 1. Heading Full Name Chapter Number and Section Date 2. Title Chapter title Section titles 3. Objectives List the section objectives found in the front of the chapter. After reading the chapter, answer the objective in your own words. Include the page number you found the answer. 4. Vocabulary The vocabulary will be found in the text as bolded words OR on a list provided to you in class. Write the title “Words I know”, and list all of the vocabulary words you already knew, along with a short definition. Write the title “Words I have seen, but don’t know” and list all the vocabulary words you have seen or heard before, but you aren’t sure what they mean, along with a short definition. Write the title “Words I don’t know” and list all the vocabulary words you have never even heard of, along with a short definition. **You are not graded on what you know already or don’t know, this is to help you when you study for a test!!!** 5. Figures, Diagrams, Pictures, and Tables List all figures, diagrams, pictures, and tables from the chapter, along with a description of each. You do NOT need to draw them. List the objective that the figure, diagram, picture, and table goes along with. Ex. Fig. 1-1 levels of complexity, starts with chemicals, ends with organism; Objective 1. Following the format above is also part of your grade. Each Chapter Section will be worth 30 points.
