Using Social Media to Collect Intell • Key nodes within that group can be determined using NodeXL, a software plugin for Microsoft Excel that allows users to create social network analysis (SNA) charts of any accessible Twitter account • The plug-in can be downloaded at nodexl.codeplex.com and a full tutorial is located at http://goo.gl/h4O44. Using Social Media to Collect Intell And Another Step • Twitalyzer can be used to retrieve various trends and patterns within a source’s Twitter account. Enter the source’s name into twitalyzer.com and to retrieve personal information such as: – location coordinates, occupation, expertise, percentage of males/females in their network, average age of followers, users the source has engaged with recently, other users that have recently mentioned or retweeted their posts, and recently discussed topics.
