2. Realisation Plan

The purpose of the Benefits Realisation Plan (BRP) is to define how and when a measurement of
the project benefits should be made. The plan is presented to the Sponsor at the end of the
project, and execution of the plan becomes the responsibility of the Business.

The goal of the BRP is to determine:

Whether the planned benefits of the project have been realised; and

Whether there have been any unplanned impacts from the product(s).
Each planned benefit listed in the Business Case, both tangible and intangible, should be
assessed to determine if it was attained by the project. In addition, any unexpected effects, either
beneficial or adverse, should be documented.
