Tax Manager Whilst predominantly consultancy based, the individual will also have responsibility for managing the corporate tax compliance function for larger groups. This position will be focused primarily on the delivery of high quality tax advice to a diverse and extensive corporate client base, ranging from SMEs to multinationals. Reporting to Taxation Partners and Directors on specific cases, the role will also involve: Providing and managing the delivery of high quality tax planning and consultancy assignments to clients. This will be primarily to corporate clients but will also entail aspects of personal tax to the extent that it relates to directors/shareholders. Advising on appropriate corporate tax structures to address clients needs/demands. Responsibility for managing the corporate tax compliance function for larger groups. Collaborate with other specialist service departments (e.g. Audit, CF, HR etc.) in the implementation of department policy and delivery of service to clients. Work closely with each Portfolio Partner and their teams to plan and execute tax work efficiently. Generate new business by leveraging off existing clients, contacts and identifying opportunities. Involvement in Firm/Department proactive marketing initiatives. Responsible for the achievement of department goals and targets. Direct responsibility for managing and developing the tax team in the delivery of these services. Participate in the ongoing development of the tax department which may include internal and external tax briefings and presentations. Tax Senior This position will involve the delivery of quality taxation advice to an extensive client base across all tax heads but with a strong focus on corporate tax. Reporting to the Tax Managers/Directors, the role will involve: Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients including preparation of tax computations and returns and ensuring clients’ returns and tax payments are correct and filed on time. Assistance on specific consultancy assignments in all areas of tax, to include Income Tax, Corporation Tax, CGT, CAT and VAT. Participate actively on a daily basis with Audit and Accounts staff on all tax heads. Assist with on-going tax training throughout the office. Review/Manage work of junior staff. Key Requirements/Attributes for both roles: Chartered Tax Advisor with a number of years experience in tax, ideally in a corporate tax role. Some international tax experience will be a distinct advantage. Whilst both roles have a strong emphasis on corporate tax, broad general experience across all tax heads is also required. An appreciation of the importance of continuous trading (CPE) in these areas. Excellent interpersonal, oral and writing communication skills. Experience in delegating and managing the work of more junior staff. A team player who will liaise confidentially at all levels in the Firm. In addition, ideally the applicant for the manager role will possess the following skills: Ability to manage a team in the delivery of service. Proven experience in business development initiatives. Commercially focused with a financial and business acumen Ability to work in a multi-Partner environment and be a team player who will liaise comfortably with other departments within the Firm, and who will be aware of opportunities for the Firm as a whole.
