Undergraduate Research Summer Scholarship Opportunity PROJECT TITLE: Characterisation of microbial pathogens associated with human lung infection PROJECT DESCRIPTION: this undergraduate scholarship project explores the use of stem cells and fungal adjunct to inactivate a range of Gram positive and negative bacteria associated with lung infection. Specifically the successful candidate will characterise a range of microbial organisms for antimicrobial resistance potential and will use novel disinfection technologies for examining their destruction. The scholarship is linked to an overarching prestigious HRB grant in this field of study that was jointly awarded to AIT and NUI Galway.
