Note: Effective January 2014, for all TPS-UNC workshops, you will be completing a Phase II online
registration through UNC. This will give you access to the Blackboard online course system, through
which you complete additional course requirements if you are receiving credit. Please note the
information specific to the workshop for which you are registering contained in the box below:

For this class, only those students who wish to register for UNC graduate credit will be
completing this Phase II registration process and the assignments on Blackboard
Step 1. Activate student records through URSA – [Ursa is UNC’s online access to secure information
and tools. As a UNC student, you can use URSA to manage registration, view grades, order transcripts,
view and pay student bills, complete forms and more.]
A. If you have taken a course previously through UNC
 You will need your Bear number - here’s the link to look it up https://apps.unco.edu/bnLookup/
(Or if you cannot provide your SSN, you must call the registrar’s office 970-351-2231)




Go to the URSA site at UNC: http://ursa.unco.edu/ and use your Bear number to log in. Click on
“forgot password” to reset it if needed. Note: you will also need to know your “Bearmail” email address. If you have questions about your Bearmail account, please contact tech support
(see info at bottom of this page.)

Once you have logged onto URSA, click on the blue student tab and you are ready to register
for this class – reference the course information in the box above.

B. If you have never taken a UNC course you will have to activate a new account.
 Follow this link to create your UNC record: https://apps.unco.edu/StudentInformationForm/.
Important Note: it will take 24 hours to process your information - you will receive a confirmation
email with your new Bear number and bearmail (e-mail) address.
Also Note: all correspondence from UNC goes to your secure bearmail account. It is important you
know how to access it.
 Using your new Bear Number, once your account is created, log onto URSA
http://ursa.unco.edu/, click on the blue student tab, and you are ready to register for this class.

3. To access the Blackboard environment for the online portion of class, go to http://bb.unco.edu or
http://unco.blackboard.com. Once registered for a class, you should be able to join it in Blackboard. All
communication for this online work will go through Blackboard or your Bearmail account.
