Objectives

 Correctly format a multipage business report .
 Demonstrate acceptable language arts skills in using
abbreviations .
 Correctly format a cover page , a table of contents,
and a bibliography.

Follow these steps to create the business report :
 Press enter 2 times, type the title in all-caps , and press
Enter 1 time .
 Type the byline information in upper-and lowercase letters
, and press Enter 1 time after each line; then type the date ,
and press Enter 2 times .
 Type the first paragraph ; then press Enter 1 time .
 Type the side heading in all-caps, and press Enter 1 time
.(Additional spacing will be added above the side heading
later when the heading 2 style is applied )

Follow these steps to create the business report :
 Continue in like manner until all paragraph and side
heading have been typed .
 Insert a header that display on all pages except the
first page .Type project title at left margin ,and type
page followed by space and automatic page number
at the right margin .
 Select all header text and format it using Cambria.

 ABBREVIATIONS
In technical writing ,on forms and in tables ,abbreviate
units of measure when they occur frequently .Do not
use periods .
For example
5 ft 10 in ( ft: feet , in : inches ) .
50 mph
( mile per hour ).
2 yrs 10 mo ( yrs: year , mo : month )

 ABBREVIATIONS
In most lower cases abbreviations made up of single
initials , use a periods after each initial but no internal
spaces .
For example

Create cover page using the insert cover page feature
in word .use the following information to complete the
cover page :
Select a suitable cover page from the word gallery that
includes (1) company name , ( 2) report title , ( 3) author ,
and (4) name . Delete any extra elements on the page .

 is a list that is placed at the beginning of some books.
It shows how the book is divided into sections and at
which page each section begins.

To create a table of contents :
 Type the title in Calibri 14 pt. Bold .A title style will be applied later to
conform with title in your report.
 Type the side headings in all-caps at left margin.
 Type the paragraph heading in upper-and lowercase .
