Studying Butterflies
• This spring, our class was thrilled to watch as our
tiny caterpillars ate, grew and ate some more. We
waited with anticipation as they changed within each

Time to Fly
Here we are waiting and ready to say goodbye!
All Aflutter with Excitement!
The butterflies were so excited to be
close to nature!
Sweet freedom!
We wished our little buddies well on their new
journey.
Oh, Stay… Just a Little Bit Longer
One butterfly was a little slow to take flight.
Stretching Our Wings
Finally, this butterfly had to take time to
stretch its’ wings and warm up to the new
feel of the sun on its’ face!
Our Contributors
Working on this presentation with our students has
been a fun project. The finished work included here
shows a variety of writing processes. Some students
have used “kid-writing” freely, while others have used
lists of words as references or copied after dictating
to a teacher. All student entries were typed by the
author.
