From your office computer:
Go to the Start menu, All Programs, Accessories, Remote Desktop Connection
Connection and connection options
When the Remote Desktop client opens:

On the General Tab, PLEASE do not check the Allow me to save credentials, as this presents a huge
security risk.

On the Display tab, slide the bar to the Right for the window to use the full screen, use Highest
Quality 32-bit Color

Uncheck the Printers box, you can add networked Printer to your profile on the server.
(Start, Run, \\be260-pserver2 <enter> will open a list of all possible networked printers,
Double Click to add a printer to your profile)
On the More button, uncheck Smart Cards
On the Programs tab, leave blank, we do not run programs on login.

On the Experience Tab, Select Custom and Uncheck all boxes in Allow the following, keep the
check box for Reconnect…

In the Server authentication area, select Connect and don’t warn me
Click the Connect button.
Once logged in, you will find a folder named Scripts on the desktop. Open this folder and
double click the file containing your Department’s name – this will provide you with your
network drives.

Server Drives
The B:\ drive of this machine is meant for storing data sets. Data sets can also be accessed from
a users’ F:\, G:\ or H:\ drives. If you should have exclusive access to your Data files, please let
BEIT know so we can setup an exclusive folder for your Data. Similarly, if you are set to pull a
new data set, it is preferable to store it in this location (space concerns.)

From Off-campus locations:
Send an email to BEIThelp and request remote access to the Research server. (Give at
least two-day notice.) If you have a B&E copy of SPSS and want remote access, please
state that in the request.
Open a web browser (Either Firefox or Internet Explorer but not Chrome) and navigate to
http://masterapps.wvu.edu. Enter your MasterID credentials (the same credentials you use to
login to your office computer.)
You will be prompted to install a Citrix plugin. Download and install the plugin.
You will see a variety of available applications, select B&E SAS Access.
Click the B&E SAS Access icon and login with your MasterID credentials. Once logged in, you
will find a folder named Scripts on the desktop. Open this folder and double click the file
containing your Department’s name. The first time running this on a PC you may have to verify
a Java Script. After this file is you, you will have access to your network drives via My
Computer.
