1 SUPPLIER SELECTION PROCESS FOR COLLEGE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS OVERVIEW The growth and educational development of minority, women and disabled veteran owned business enterprises (M/WBE-DVBEs) is important to AT&T. AT&T believes its investment in small businesses will assist them with having a competitive edge in the marketplace. Each year, AT&T sponsors several of the most highly regarded college graduate level executive education programs in the country. These elite programs are designed to help transform small business executives into strategic business leaders—often moving businesses “to the next level” of their growth. The programs work to position companies to become suppliers to major corporations. This program is being offered to assist those WBE businesses to assess, improve and grow their businesses. This program is targeted to WBE firms that are beyond the startup phase. It will assist WBEs in making strategic business decisions, optimize core business processes, ensure adequate cash flows and staffing, and manage business relationships. In addition, this program is modeled after the successful Tuck programs for minority–owned business enterprises. This is a 5-day, on campus executive management program. Applicants must be WBENC certified, WBE presidents or senior officers, with three to five years of managing a business, and have in excess of $2 Million in annual sales.
