AP U.S. History is a challenging course that will guide students through an examination of American history from the pre-Columbian period to the present. While the course follows a chronological approach thematic concepts will be woven throughout the material. These themes, determined by the
College Board, include national identity, American economic and political systems, migration patterns, America’s place in the world, the impact of the environment, and the role of beliefs, ideas, and culture in developing the
American nation. In addition, students will develop skills required for writing academic essays, analyzing primary sources, and thinking historically.
The goals of this course are to:
Develop in students an understanding for an appreciation of the history of the United States.
Prepare students for the AP exam in May.
Students will need to supply the following materials.

Pens and Pencils
2 Two-inch Binders

History will follow the schedule below. Tests will be administered at the end of the last week noted for each Period.

There will be NO electronic devices used in this classroom for any reason! You do not need to look at one at any time for any reason.
Use of any electronic device without my expressed consent IS NOT
ALLOWED!
NO late homework or assignments will be accepted other than those assignments that fall under the policy for excused absences.
NO extra credit is available, EVER!
There are no test re-takes.
Three tardies will result in detention.
Keep up with your grades in Infinite Campus. It is your responsibility.
If you are absent on a day when a test is scheduled or an assignment is due, it is your responsibility to schedule a make-up time. Make-up tests/assignments should be scheduled before school, or during detention times after school.
