Why would Nigerians go to America? Nigerians would go to America Because… America is a multicultural country which matters because Nigerians can go there even if they are not of the same culture. America has an amazing school system and elementary schools are free to join. This matters because they can barely afford to go to school and they can’t anyway because of child labour. People in poorer parts of the world search job opportunities in America. They have amazing well paid jobs, parents work while their children get educated as education is free in America. In America children have the right of protection while in Nigeria they give them a bad time beating them up, put a lot pressure to work. Physical Barriers Hundreds of illegal immigrants die in an attempt to cross an ocean migrate to America. Large Nigerian Mountains can greatly reduce the effective mobility of vehicles. Deserts with their lack of water forces travelers to carry their own supply hence slowing their travel rate. Physical barriers are easily overcome with the ability of planes, aircrafts, ship and other types of transportation. Only few people in Nigeria can afford transportation Political Barriers To stop citizens to leave Nigeria, government created Exit Taxes. Governments set rules to control the number of immigrants leaving the country so people have to wait a very long time to migrate to America. Only a few can leave a week. Environmental Barriers Increased immigration has a negative effect on the environment cause there wont be that many people working at Nigeria mostly kids and Nigeria is also aiming for 20th biggest economic country. Low income families, they do not value education because they cannot afford it and have to do child labour to bring additional income to the family. 45.5% of Nigeria is Muslim and 53.1% of Nigeria is Christianity. Child Labour that can affect children education and health is prohibited in Islam (Muslims). In these religions, people are not allowed to force child labour but they have to because of poverty in Nigeria Muslims follow God and Christians follow Jesus Christ. The class systems are Primary-Junior-Secondary-A’LevelsColledge/University. The system is rigid; the work is 3x harder than America and sometimes the teachers hit you. Family Values A man has large amount of children with many wives. Education is highly valued more so than wealth, a poor educated man gets more respect than rich man who has not been educated. Nigerian people are honest, loyal and trustworthy to do business with. Social Structure Nigerian society is divided into upper, middle and lower classes. Poor education, lack of opportunities, ill health, corrupt politicians, and lacks of even small amounts of wealth for investment all work to keep the lower classes in their place. Lower class due to low income leads to child labour. Lower class can mover from lower to middle or upper class by creating jobs, providing affordable houses, healthcare services and free education.
