I am Daniel Anyikaeme the conveyner of the Nigernet initiative with the goal of providing millions Nigerians who are offline daily with free access to a collaborative social online education experience Through a handheld device via our applications installed on their mobile phones. We intend to achieve this by collaborations with various partners. We will work with the Nigerian government, A telecommunication firm, Educational content provider (Such as Coursera.org, Allison.org e.t.c.) to develop a Mass Open online course platform to provide Nigerians with free, high-quality, localized educational content and create a social learning experience that is accessible is credible and accessible through a hand held device. We are developing this idea based on the fact that we want to reach out to the remaining 100 Million Nigerians who are probably offline on daily basics leveraging on the available resources to achieve our targets. Our platform is been designed such that course work and assignment could be done submitted in a hitch free manner even in various local Nigerian Language such as Pigin Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba.
