From research in appropriate shade tree selections for cityscapes to production positions in the Southwest to development of new cultivars for the nursery trade and teaching positions to becoming a frequent speaker and writer on uses of plant materials both in this country and abroad, he has developed a strong working knowledge of plant materials. His current projects are breeding and introduction of adapted materials for the southwest. Many current selections in the horticulture trade in Phoenix have been introduced here by George. One patent for a hybrid has recently been award George with twenty new ones in trials at this time for potential patents in the United States, in the European Union and in Asia.
