Description
Study of business processes from within an enterprise system using SAP ERP as the applicable
framework. Students will learn to identify considerations for selecting an ERP system, integrate
business processes through ERP and methods for implementing an ERP system from an
organizational perspective.

 Identify the benefits of ERP systems
 Understand the pitfalls during integration of an ERP system
 Gain familiarity in the basics of accounting and cost control within an ERP system
 Understand the organizational considerations of ERP implementation
Grade Breakdown (Weights)
Participation: weekly discussion posts and class interactions- 30%
Homework: periodic written summaries, integration problem- 40%
Case Study Project: 30%
Letter Grade Assignment
Your final points will be calculated based on the above-mentioned weights
A = 90 points or above
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = 59 and below

Assignment due dates: All assignments are due at the end of the week in which they are
assigned; Sunday at 1259pm (2359). One letter grade will be subtracted each day an item is
late.
Lectures and Videos: Lecture videos will accompany many of the reading assignments,
particularly weeks with “slides and notes”. I expect everyone to check blackboard daily for
messages and updates.

Description
Message Boards- Each week students are required to place at least two
comments on the message board in response to posted discussion topics in
order to demonstrate understanding of the week’s material (participation)
Summaries- Periodically, students will provide a 2-3 page double spaced
summary of the material covered since the last summary and give related
examples from their work experience where applicable (homework)
Accounting worksheets- complete pages 11, 25, 42, 63, 83, 102, 131 from
the Accounting game. Scan and submit thru e-mail (homework)
Case Study Project- Each student will select an ERP implementation case
study from a provided pool in Week 11 and perform an analysis of the
organization’s change strategy, outline the applicable business processes
and identify areas of improvement. Expected to be 8-10 pages plus exhibits.
(case study grade)
Process Integration Project- students are required to map the relative
process integration nodes and system actions based on a given scenario.
