Club Coach Officer – South East Region (2 posts)
12 months fixed term, part-time, subject to funding

Heart of Midlothian FC and Livingston Youth Foundation, in partnership with the
Scottish FA and McDonald's, are seeking to appoint 2 Club Coach Officers to work
with local football clubs in order to support the development of grassroots coaches
and the Scottish FA Quality Mark programme. Within the role you will work closely
with Scottish FA regional staff to promote participation in football at all levels in line
with “Scotland United: A 2020 vision”, the Scottish FA strategic plan.
There are 2 roles available, located as follows:
City of Edinburgh - Heart of Midlothian FC (16 hours per week)
West Lothian – Livingston Youth Foundation (14 hours per week)
As this post will involve travel and unsociable hours, the successful candidate must
have a Driving Licence and a willingness to work flexibly.

The successful candidate must hold one of the following Scottish FA recognised
awards: UEFA Pro Licence, UEFA A Licence , Elite Youth A Licence, UEFA B
License or SFA Advanced Children's Licence and preferably have some experience
of mentoring.

JOB TITLE:
Club Coach Officer – Fixed term for 12 months
(14-16hrs per week, to be worked flexibly including evenings and weekends)
JOB PURPOSE:
The Club Coach Officer will be responsible for the effective delivery of Scottish
FA/McDonalds Club Coach programme. The Club Coach Officer will promote participation
in football at all levels in line with “Scotland United: A 2020 Vision”, the Scottish FA
strategic plan and, in partnership with the regional staff, will liaise with the relevant
stakeholders to support the implementation of Scottish FA Grassroots initiatives (e.g.
Tesco Bank, McDonalds, Quality Mark) through the provision of appropriate Coach
Education.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
- Development Manager (Livingston youth foundation) with functional reporting line
to the Scottish FA Club Development Manager
- Football Development Officer (Heart of Midlothian FC) with functional reporting line
to the Scottish FA Club Development Manager
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the development of football coaches at local clubs including 1:1 mentoring
support, workshop delivery and providing feedback on coaching techniques.
Deliver bespoke in-service sessions to local football clubs to increase the quality of
coaches knowledge and experience of the game.
Deliver Positive Coaching Scotland modules to football club coaches to support the
club to develop a player and club philosophy.
Identify, mentor and develop potential lead coaches at football clubs to deliver peer
learning sessions and a sustainable support network.
Raise awareness of quality football coaching practices through Social Media including
websites and Twitter.
Work with local football clubs to devise, deliver and document a club curriculum that
provides a training and development plan for coaches to follow.
Take reasonable care of personal health and safety and co-operate with management
to enable compliance with health and safety rules and legislative requirements.
Produce and manage a work programme integral to allocated projects and other
work priorities and report against this as agreed with the SFA Community
Coach/Scottish FA Club Development Manager
Undertake such other duties and responsibilities that may be reasonably required by
the service and delivery of the new McDonalds Club Coach program.
To carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise from time to time or be
assigned by the Club Development or Regional Manager.
