Adventures
 Boeing launches second century of aerospace achievement by presenting
interactive exhibit at the Charleston Gaillard Center Feb. 13 – March 13,
2016
North Charleston, S.C., Nov. 16, 2015 – Above and Beyond - The Ultimate
Interactive Flight Exhibition will launch in Charleston early 2016 as Boeing [NYSE: BA]
recognizes its centennial year. Designed for visitors of all ages, but especially those
aged 7–14, Above and Beyond explores the wonder of flight and the marvels of
aerospace innovation, design, and technology. The exhibition will be open at the
Charleston Gaillard Center Feb. 13 –March 23, 2016, and is produced by Evergreen
Exhibitions in association with Boeing and in collaboration with NASA and the
Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.
“We’re excited to have the Above and Beyond exhibit visit the Charleston area,”
said Beverly Wyse, vice president and general manager, Boeing South Carolina.
“Promoting STEM education to South Carolina students is one of our most important
goals, and this month-long exhibit will inspire children – and adults – to learn more
about aerospace and explore science, engineering and technology as potential career
paths.”
Presenting Above and Beyond is an important element of Boeing’s centennial
celebration, which the company is using to share its own rich legacy and culture of
innovation through engaging educational activities. The exhibition features interactive,
hands-on activities such as a multi-touch timeline, an immersive video experience and
interactive simulations and design activities. Through these activities, visitors will be
able to take a simulated ride in a space elevator ride, equip and launch a drone, design

and test-fly a supersonic jet and experience flight as a bird through an avatar-based
motion-capture experience.
Above and Beyond is co-sponsored by The Charleston Gaillard Center, The Post
& Courier and the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. The global tour kicked
off at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C, in August 2015, and the
