Your personal information is required to assist us in determining if the Community Volunteering for
Change – Global Project is feasible for you at this time. Your disclosure is important to enable us to
assess and provide appropriate support to you during preparation and the project. The information that
you provide will be used by University of Melbourne and Australian Volunteers International (AVI) in the
recruitment process for this project only. If shortlisted you will have the opportunity to discuss your
responses with an interviewer. Stringent privacy guidelines are in place to protect you and your
information. Please note that we will refer to some of these questions in the interview process.

Important: This year, CVC Global is hosting two projects in India and Indonesia over the same time period. You
only need to complete one application form to be considered for positions on both projects. Please mark the
boxes below with 1 indicating your first preference and 2 indicating your second preference. You will be allocated
to a particular project based on the best match between interests, skills, experience and needs of the project
partner organisations.

do the project objectives/activities fit in with your future career plan, current role, career building?)
2. What do you know about the work of the partner organisation overseas? Why are you interested in
working with this organisation?
3. What experience have you had in cross cultural environments and what did you learn from these
experiences? I.e. travelling, volunteering or exchange. Please list the countries, type of experience and
length of time. Working with different nationalities in Australia is also highly valued.
4. With volunteering comes responsibility and unexpected challenges. Can you describe a situation that
you have been in that was much more uncomfortable and difficult than you had anticipated? What did
you do to deal with the discomfort and difficulties? What was the result?
