Procurement Solutions Consultant one temporary (up to nine months) The Ministry of Transportation is a large, diverse organization that promotes road safety and invests in highways and transit. In this role, you will: provide strategic advice and expertise in the area of procurement from the planning phase to contract management proactively interact with ministry clients to strategize procurement requirements lead procurement planning through development of Supply Chain Leadership Council and Treasury Board submissions, liaise with Ministry of Government Services and other Ontario Public Service (OPS) offices ensure compliance with procurement policy and provide recommendations as subject matter expert develop and deliver executive level presentations and conduct procurement training sessions. Proven Knowledge: you have comprehensive knowledge of procurement policies, methods and procedures you have business knowledge of alternative service delivery concepts, contractual law and trade agreements you have knowledge of contract management, financial management including budgeting and reporting methods and accounting and controllership practices Applied Skills: you have highly developed tact, negotiation and interpersonal skills that will enable you to build effective partnerships to advise, consult, negotiate and promote cooperation to achieve procurement objectives you have superior communication skills with proven experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations and reports you have demonstrated planning, organizational and problem-solving skills to identify and manage issues and identify risks and develop mitigating strategies to successfully carry out major procurement projects you have experience interpreting directives, guidelines, legislation and regulations and conducting research on procurement trends and developments in the public and private sector you have the ability and experience working within a team environment including the provision of technical leadership and guidance to the team Notes: Less qualified applicants may be considered on an underfill basis.
