Job Purpose:
To assist the Head of Reward to implement the University’s Academic reward and
recognition processes to support the University’s reward and recognition strategy.
Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities:
% Time
1.
To support the Head of Reward with the development and implementation of the Academic
Reward Project, to meet business requirements, including the implementation of a range of key
policy changes.

2.
To manage, co-ordinate, review and deliver internal reward and recognition processes, ensuring
time efficiency and productivity, and assist in the development and management of
measurement mechanisms to evaluate the success of reward policies.

3.
To track and monitor pay and reward activity within the Academic Reward Project and across
the University; prepare accurate technical pay documentation and formal reports.

4.
To undertake research and perform detailed and precise data analysis and manipulation,
interpreting pay and workforce information to create draft reports, highlighting issues and
priorities.

5.
To provide advice and guidance to University managers, HR Managers and the HR Operations
team on new and existing reward initiatives, pay structures, promotion criteria etc.

To lead on reward and recognition projects as required.

To work in partnership with other HR advisers within HR Specialist Services to complete key
projects, providing cover and support as required, achieving high quality service delivery.

CIPD membership and post graduate diploma in Personnel Management or
equivalent qualification and or experience
Experience of pay modelling.
Up to date knowledge of reward best practice and emerging trends and related
employment legislation.

Significant experience of delivering, accurate and timely, specialist reward and
recognition advice and activities in a complex organisation.
Proven experience of successful pro-active HR project management.
