Stock The Fridge
2013-2014
Welcome to the Stock the Fridge Program here at River Place Elementary! Thank you for being
a room rep for your teacher. Do understand they appreciate this “little” job (as we all know that
it is nowhere near little”. Leanne Cartwright and I are heading this worthwhile project that
allows our wonderful teachers a little bit of a treat during the day. Our goal is to have this
letter provide you with the answers to the questions you will be asked from your parents. As
always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact Leanne Cartwright
(leannedcartwright@hotmail.com) or me, Amy Mader (amy@myplatinumevent.com) and we
will gladly help you out. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
What is Stock the Fridge?
This is a program at RPE where parents donate drinks, snacks and magazines to the teacher’s
lounge and the front office lounge in hopes of making their day a little bit better. Sometimes,
you just need a candy bar.
How does it work?
Each room rep will be given a list of things to “rally up” in their class. It is suggested you send
an email to your class with a list of items needed and have parents sign up for what they would
like to bring in.
How many times will I have to beg my parents to help?
We stock the fridge two times per month. As a class, you will be asking your parents to do it
ONE TIME during the school calendar year.
When are the items due?
Your assigned session is in this information packet. Kindly refer to the column highlighted in
yellow for the items. All items need to be delivered to the teachers sojourn within 3 days of
your requested date. Place all items on, in or around the black shelving unit as you walk in the
door.
What else do I need to do?
Stock The Fridge
2013-2014
Nothing. Leanne and I will take care of cleaning the fridge and restocking it in both locations
How much do I need to have my class donate?
Refer to the chart enclosed in this packet. In addition, under your teachers name there will be 1-3
special items that have been requested (we solicited the teachers this summer for requests). If your
teacher placed their name on their request, we made sure that was placed under her name.
What if I cannot locate a requested item?
Leanne and I have already done a “dry run” for the month of September. We located all the above items
at Costco (a majority of them) and at our local 4 points HEB. If you cannot find something, it is ok to
substitute something else.
Will all these things really get eaten?
Yes. We are very confident with not only the quantities but selections. We will still solicit suggestions
from the teachers.
Will there always be food in the Sojourn?
No. The teachers understand that 2 times per month there will be deliveries. If they chow thru things
quickly, they need to wait until the next shipment.
Will the teachers know the items are from our class?
Absolutely! There will be a poster stating which teachers are “sponsoring” that month.
Is this mandatory?
Not one volunteer request is mandatory at RPE. However, it is a well appreciate generous act of kindness that
makes the people who are in charge of your children for 7 hours per day a little bit happier. We cannot guarantee
your child will get into Princeton because of this, but you can relish in the fact that you are making someone’s day
a little bit nicer.
Will I be sent a reminder?
Absolutely. We will send a reminder via email to you with the amounts for your class as well as any special
requests. However, you are strongly encouraged to put the information we have given you today on your
calendarīŠ
