Curriculum
The academic program is organized on a block schedule with eight classes per quarter. Students take four, 82
minute block classes each day. Each block class meets every other day.
Our AP program has placed us on the national AP Honor Roll. Last year, AP students earned 1,224 college credits
through AP testing. Wasatch High offers the following AP courses: Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, English
Literature and Composition, Government and Politics, United States History, World History, Human Geography,
Spanish, Music Theory, Physics C, Physics 1, Studio Art 2-D Design, Studio Art/Drawing, and Statistics. Our AP
classes and tests are open enrollment.
Honors classes are offered in a variety of English, Math, and Science courses. It is recommended that honors
students maintain a B+ average in their honors courses.
Distance Education classes are offered through a partnership with Utah Valley University (UVU). Students must be
juniors with a minimum 3.3 GPA or seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA, to participate in these live interactive
courses. They are taught via satellite, in our building, on the UVU schedule. The 2015-2016 school year students
earned 1,046 transferrable college credits in these courses.
Concurrent enrollment credit is also offered at Wasatch High School. These are classes taught by our high school
instructors, with the option of earning college credit at the same time. Most classes are for juniors and seniors,
although UVU allows sophomores by exception. These credits are earned through UVU or Snow College. Last year,
students earned 2, 199 concurrent enrollment credits.
We also offer trade and skill certification classes, through Mountain Land Applied Technology College (MATC) and
UVU. Last year students earned college credit, as well as state certifications in trades such as Certified Nursing
Assistant, Dental Assistant, Cosmetology and Welding.
