Second Grade Reading List
Each student should choose 2 books off of the list below to read over the summer. After reading
the entire book, students will write a one paragraph summary of the book. The summary should
include the title, author, and the main characters. The other sentences should tell some of the
main points of the story and one sentence explaining what the student learned from reading the
story. The summaries should be turned in the first week of the new school year.

to write a one-page summary of what he/she read. The summary

characters, the setting and the plot. The summaries are to be
turned in the first week of the new school year.
